Around 1975 ... the Vietnamese Physician Association of Southern California (VPASC) began as a social support group.

A group of Vietnamese physician (displaced from Vietnam to the US) met with each other to help study for the medical board exam.
In 1993 ... VPASC became an official California Nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation and received tax exempt status as a 501 (c) (6) corporation organized "for the mutual benefit of its physician members."
In 2011 ... a separate VPASC FOUNDATION was organized ... to be able to do more charity work for the public community.

VPASC FOUNDATION is a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation ... with the tax exempted status of 501 (c) (3) corporation organized "for the benefit of the public."

VPASC FOUNDATION has its own separate Tax ID, Financial Records, By-Laws, and Governing Body.
VPASC Motto:             "One life to share. One family to love. One community to serve."

VPASC Mission:         "The mission of VPASC shall be to maintain the identity and cohesiveness of the physicians of Vietnamese ancestry residing in Southern California and to provide a forum for scientific, educational, cultural, charitable and social interaction among its members."

VPASC Passion:        "Help train future California healthcare providers (physicians, dentists, pharmamcists, nurses, etc.) to be more caring, compassionate, and better caregivers to their fellow human beings."
